Nylon Flat Washer PA6 | Insulating Plastic Gasket M3-M24

Thenylon flat washer — manufactured from PA6 (polyamide 6) or PA66 (polyamide 66) engineering thermoplastic — is a non-metallic insulating washer that serves as a barrier layer between a bolt head or nut and the mating surface. Unlike steel washers that conduct electricity and can create galvanic corrosion paths between dissimilar metals, a plastic washer electrically and chemically isolates the joint, making it essential for marine installations where stainless steel bolts meet aluminum or steel structures, and where electrical insulation is a safety requirement.

In marine applications, nylon washers address four critical needs simultaneously: electrical insulation for switchboard, junction box, and navigation electronics mounting; galvanic isolation to prevent dissimilar metal corrosion between stainless fasteners and aluminum deckhouses or zinc-coated steel brackets; surface protection to prevent painted or coated surfaces from being scratched by metal washers during tightening — vital on finished deck equipment and interior joinery; and shock absorption in instrument panel and vibration-sensitive equipment mounting. The natural resilience of PA6 washers also provides a light sealing effect against moisture ingress at low clamping pressures.

Ournylon flat washers are precision injection-molded from virgin PA6andPA66 resin, achieving consistent thickness (±0.1mm) and clean burr-free edges across the M3–M24 size range. Available in standard thicknesses of 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 3.0mm, with natural white or black color options. PA66 is recommended for higher-temperature environments (up to 120°C continuous) while PA6 offers slightly better impact resistance for cold-weather deck installations.
