Surface Treatment Options
- Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) — ISO 10684 / ASTM A153, ≥ 50 μm, for 8.8 grade (10.9 requires oversize thread compensation)
- Zinc flake coating — ISO 10683, no hydrogen embrittlement risk, preferred for 10.9
- Dacromet / Geomet — excellent corrosion resistance, low friction
- Phosphated + oiled — temporary protection, for further painting
- Plain (black) — indoor or painted structures
Quality Assurance
- In-house laboratory: OES spectrometry, 600 kN universal testing machine, hardness testers, salt spray chamber (1000H+)
- Torque coefficient testing for HV systems (per EN 14399-1, Annex A)
- Decarburization check (micro-hardness method)
- Wedge tension test per ISO 898-1
- Head quality test (impact & ductility)
- Dimensional inspection: thread gauge go/no-go, length, across-flats
- CE marking & DoC available for EN 1090 compliance
- MTC per EN 10204 Type 3.1 with every shipment
- Third-party inspection: SGS / BV / TÜV

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between EN 14399 HV and HR bolt systems?
HV (Hexagon head bolt with Nut and chamfered Washer) uses torque control method with torque coefficient K = 0.11–0.15 per EN 14399-1 Annex A. HR (Hexagon fitted bolt with Nut) uses direct tension indicator (DTI) washers or nut rotation method. Both are Grade 10.9 preloaded assemblies, but installation procedures differ. We supply both systems with full torque coefficient test reports.
Q2: Can you supply EN 14399 certified bolts for EU steel structure projects?
Yes. SINOFASTENER was the first manufacturer in China to obtain dual EN 14399 / EN 15048 certification in 2010, verified by EU notified body. Every shipment includes CE marking, Declaration of Conformity (DoC), and Mill Test Certificate per EN 10204 Type 3.1. Our certificates are valid for EN 1090 structural steelwork execution classes EXC1–EXC4.
Q3: Do you provide torque coefficient test reports for HV bolts?
Yes. Every production lot undergoes torque coefficient testing per EN 14399-1 Annex A in our in-house laboratory. Test reports include individual bolt torque coefficient values (K), axial force, and nut rotation angle. Reports are shipped with MTC and available for third-party verification (SGS / BV / TÜV).
Q4: What size range and grades can you supply?
We supply M12–M64 in Grade 8.8 and 10.9 per ISO 898-1. EN 14399 systems (HV/HR) cover M12–M36. For sizes beyond M36 or special grades, contact us with your specification — we manufacture to order based on project requirements.
Q5: What is your EU anti-dumping duty rate?
SINOFASTENER (Ningbo Zhonglian Fastener Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) benefits from a 39.6% anti-dumping duty (TARIC code C824) under EU Regulation 2022/191, compared to the 86.5% rate for non-cooperative exporters (C999). This 46.9 percentage point advantage significantly reduces landed cost for EU buyers. CBAM carbon cost is also 93.5% lower than EU default values.
