T-Bolt Xylan PTFE Coated | T-Head Bolt with Nut Marine

TheT-bolt — also known as T-head bolt,hammer head bolt, or T-slot bolt — is a specialty fastener characterized by a flat, rectangular head that slides into T-slot tracks, channel rails, or slotted mounting plates. The head is rotated 90° after insertion, creating a secure mechanical lock that prevents the bolt from spinning during tightening. This anti-rotation feature makes the T-bolt ideal for blind-install applications where access to the bolt head is restricted after placement — a common scenario on ship decks, equipment rails, and machinery foundations.

In marine and offshore environments, T-bolts are deployed on deck equipment tracks, winch and windlass base rails, hatch cover slides, cable tray channels, and structural bracket connections. The Xylan 1424 PTFE coated T-bolt — identifiable by its distinctive blue finish — provides outstanding corrosion resistance without the weight penalty of full stainless steel. This fluoropolymer coating, applied as standard on our Grade 8.8 carbon steel T-bolts, delivers a low-friction surface that eases assembly, resists salt spray, and meets the long-term anti-corrosion demands of exposed topside and splash-zone service. For seawater-immersed applications, A4-70 (316) and A2-70 (304) stainless steel options are available.

Drawing on the manufacturing expertise validated by AWWA C111/A21.11 quality protocols, our Xylan PTFE T-bolts are produced from medium-carbon alloy steel, quenched and tempered to Grade 8.8 tensile grade, then coated with Xylan 1424 (blue) or alternative Dacromet and Geomet finishes per customer specification. Supplied as a matched set with corresponding hexagon nuts, each batch includes mill test reports per EN 10204 3.1, with IACS class society documentation available for marine projects.
