What Is a Spring Snap Hook?
Aspring snap hook (quick-release snap hook) is a one-piece connector with a spring-loaded gate that opens to attach or release a rope, lanyard or tool. The gate closes automatically by spring force. Unlike forged lifting hooks, it has no positive latch or locking mechanism, so it is intended for light-duty attachment rather than load-bearing rigging.
