Forged Dee Shackle, Hot-Dip Galvanized

A forged dee (anchor) shackleinhot-dip galvanized high-strength carbon steel for marine lifting, mooring and rigging connections. One-piece drop-forged body with integrated pin, manufactured to EN 13889,ISO 2415:2022andJB/T 8112. Available in screw pin, bolt-type and plain (cotter) pin configurations, with a working load limit from 0.3 t to 17 t. Each piece is marked with WLL and supplied with material certificates for third-party inspection.

What Is a Dee Shackle?

Adee shackle (also called an anchor shackle) is a U-shaped connector with a straight, close-fitting jaw section. Its narrow, directional geometry is designed for single-axis loading, which makes it well suited to mooring lines, anchor chains, sling terminals and structural tie-in points. The coupling pin is retained by a threaded end or a cotter pin, and the forged body distributes load with high strength-to-weight ratio.

Marine Applications

Note: application data below is based on typical industry practice for marine rigging using conforming forged shackles.

FAQ

What is the difference between a dee and a bow shackle?

A dee shackle has a straight, narrow jaw and is designed for single-axis loading; a bow shackle has a curved arch that allows multi-directional loading of several slings. Choose dee for mooring and anchor connections, bow for multi-leg lifting.

Which pin type should I choose?

Screw pin for quick assembly and disassembly in temporary rigging; bolt type with nut for permanent or high-vibration applications; cotter pin for simple, lockable connections. Confirm the application to select the correct pin.

Can this shackle be used for lifting loads?

Yes, forged dee shackles to EN 13889 are designed for general lifting within their marked WLL. Always verify the marking and rated working load before use, and do not exceed the rated limit.

Are material certificates available?

Yes. Material certificates are provided with the batch, and products can be supplied for third-party inspection on request.
